Default B&M Hammer Shifter for AOD

Who has one of these shifters installed? I am planning on ordering one but have a question about it before I do. The car I recently purchased supposedly has a B&M shift kit installed. When you get on the throttle it seems to shift too quickly between 2nd and 3rd gear. It looks like from pictures of the Hammer shifter that there is a position for each gear meaning that I could manually control the shifting for each gear. Is that correct? I don't want to spend $200 for the shifter if it isn't going to help me. Thanks.

The B&M shifter (as far as i know) wont change the control you have. In other words if you have an aod in a fox it will alow you to go from 1st to 2nd/3rd and the to OD. The shifters in the SN's i believe will allow you to go 1st,2nd,3rd and then theres a OD switch.

The only thing the shifter will do is make sure you dont over shift.

I just looked at a close up picture of this shifter on Summit Racing and from what I can tell it seems to have indicators for L, 2, 3, D, N, R and P.

Edit, just saw that you have a shift kit. Whoops. You may want to invest in a manual valvebody.

I have one of those shifters and hate it. I have to read the manual everytime I want to shift. No one else can get it to shift though so I don't have to worry about someone stealing the car.

replacing the shifter handle WILL NOT change the way the tranny shifts. you will need to upgrade the transmission with a manual valve body like someone else stated or check out lentech's website to convert your AOD into an electronic over drive.

Someone led me to a valve body made by Performance Automatic. It states that it is designed to work normally in OD, but gives you manual control of the gears when using it in positions 1 and D.

Hey 46, what exactly is the tv cable adjustment?
