Default Need help with timing...?

Well im going to have my friend check my timing hopefully later today, i didnt ask him any of this yet, he might know, but i thought id post here to get more opinions... First of all, where should my timing be? If location and or mods matter, i am in Plainfield Illinois and my mods are:

All forged internals
e303 cam
edelbrock victor jr high rise intake
holley 700 double pumper
holley fuel regulator
russel fuel pressure gauge
mallory pro billet distributor
mallory pro master street strip coil
mallory hyfire 6al ignition box
ford racing spark plug wires
random dress up parts
all braided fuel line
bbk shorty headers
bbk x pipe
flowmaster mufflers dumped before the rear axle
bbk sub frame connectors
rci 8 gallon fuel cell
holley fuel pump
professional products powerflow fuel filter
traction bars
gay chinese xtuning 5" tach with shift light
t5 trans with drag clutch and hurst pistol grip shifter
and a spooled 8.8 rear end with 3.73 gears.

I know some of those wouldnt effect timing i ust copy and pasted it from my youtube video really quick. Also if the timing is possibly off, and i fixed it, would it possibly get rid of the stuttering my motor has been doing? Thanks!

What heads does it have? That cam/intake is gonna want at least 14 at idle. The stuttering could be a poorly tuned carburetor, or a totally mis-matched engine combination.

Your problem is most likely the stock heads you have on there, they aren't matched to the cam.

Your intake, carb and heads are completely mismatched, so it's going to run like crap regardless of being tuned right or not. And chances are that carb doesn't have enough flexibility to even be tuned right on that setup. You'd really need a larger set of heads than GT40's to go with that. A 700cfm mech secondary with a Vic Jr on a 302 really needs a good set of heads and a healthy cam. I'll bet at WOT and max rpm that engine prolly isn't even pulling but about .3-.5" hg vacuum, max. Depending on what type boosters that carb has, at low rpm it prolly isn't even making enough signal to sheer the fuel and get any atomisation. The running rough is most likely a result of very poor mixture quality.

My dad re-timed the car today and played with the carb a little bit, i just got back from a drive and its running better than ever, if you ease the throttle to half then floor it nothing happens, but i was doing about 20mph in second gear and just floored it, and it kind of paused really briefly then took off like a bat out of hell and i went to about 87mph in third then let off but when i shifted into third it did nothing but go, this thing is running good and fast now.
