Default I need some opinions!

Ok hey guys. I'm new to the forums but I need some opinions. Ok I recently Twin'd my 93 Stang with a nearly stock motor. Just to see what I could get a stock motor to handle. Anyway I haven't had time to look but hopefully I just blew a head gasket. Anyway I want to build a new motor and then boost it. BUT here's the question should I buy a used motor out of an 89 Stang with 89,000 miles or should I just buy a prepped short block and work from that? Help me out. Thanks....

So you twin turbod a stock motor and hopefully blew a head gasket.... if you were capable of twin turboing a motor, why not replace the head gasket. If you are putting a diff block in there id say go aftermarket, you may blow the "stock" block you put in there.

i'll have to disagree. there's plenty of 500hp cars on M.F.i made that to the wheels ,so take out 15% drivtrain loss. mmmmmm about 575hp at the crank.and i beat the crap out of mine.

I'm not sure what I want my goal to be yet. 500 hp sounds great lol. I basically jumped into this build to beat Honda's and after reading this stock shock article. lol =) The head gasket I actually blew was a multi-layered steel. I can see how the aftermarket block to start with would help. but budget wise what would you choose. I mean I can purchase that old motor for $300 or I could also get a brand new bored and line honed block from summit for around the same price...

If there was time and money to build it twice... there was time and money to build it right.. the first time!

if your bored and want to waste money you could try stacking head gaskets. Lowers your compression
