Replace oil pump/shaft? Or it's fine to let it go?
I have an 88 roller cam long block out of a Lincoln with just over 100k miles sitting on an engine stand. I'm Building it back up to go im my 83 Mustang. I hear about oil pump shaft failer, but I also hear about how 100k is just getting broken in.
I dont want to spend time or money changeing parts that dont need to be. But I also dont want to loose oil pressure or have to pull the pan with the engine in the car.
Should I leave it alone? If it 'ent broke dont fix it?
Or should I replace it while I have the chance?
