the sun might be shining on me after all. Still waiting to hear on a price but my friends father-n-law has 2 5.0 engines that he picked up from an auction that are complete and ready to drop in and go. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he will give me a good deal on one and I can have this thing running in a weekend or two.

This would be the right motor same as the one that froze up on my brother and I wouldn't have to do any re-wire or mess with rigging the fuel pump or anything to make it work w/ a carb engine. I'm guessing for $500 or less I can have this motor and get it dropped in.

Then I can mess with the transmission and see why it keeps popping out of 2nd gear when you downshift. Also I'll have to figure out if I can get the roll cage out of the car w/o cutting it. If not then I guess I'll have to buy some racing buckets. ARGH!!! don't know why my brother wanted to turn it into a drag car when he was broke .
