The car is 5 speed, its has factory rear gears in it too.

As far as the parts, everythings there, I have all the factory parts, boxes and recipts for the new parts. The heads say afr right on then, holley right on the intake, yep its got everything there.

What kind of cam would you guys suggest I go with, give me a good setup. Also any suggestions on the exhaust?

Thanks

ditch that cam. Get an E cam or maybe an F cam. Trick flow makes some good ones too. I have flowmaster 40s on my car and its sounds really nice. Clogged mufflers could def hurt your power. So get the flowmaster cat back or just mufflers and swap that cam out. with AFRs you should be around 315hp and 325 torque or better

if you want to make more horsepower do NOT buy a ford letter cam. (E,F,B i.e) look up camshaft innovations and talk to them about making you a custom grind cam specifically for your set up. You might need to change valve springs to match the cam, but it will be SO worth it.

So do you think the bad exhaust and crappy cam are my problem then.

So I wanna talk to Jason at camshaft inovations and tell him my set up, and they'll grind me a custom cam? What's that usually run, I think ill deff go that route.

Also since ill have the motor apart somewhat, is there anything else I can do to get more power, other then nos or a blower, or am I pretty much maxed out.

Thanks.

These are the correct parts, im the guy building it. I adjusted the valves this evening but I'm still needing to put the 79 waterpump on. Only accessories im running is alt n water pump of underdrive crank pulley.. Sooo its still not too late to put a different cam In it. I only paid 150 for the cam used.. So I can most likely get my money back out of it n get something better. Springs are rated up to 600.
thank you guys for taking the time to respond! Means alot
