Default 460 into my fox, Need to know what will work

Im planning on dropping a 460 with a c6 into my fox (everythings stock as of now)

The engine is from a car (dont know what exactly) and is carbed, the guy I bought it from guess late 70's

I need to know what I need to drop it in,

so far I know I need to get headers, a swap oil pan and engine mounts

anything else?

Here are headers, are there any cheaper (budget car, im about $600 in on the entire build so far)

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...w=1&N=700+150+

and that page shows these engine mounts? (do these just go on the original mounts to make them bigger?)

You can get the complete 460 swap kit from Jegs for around $900. You Need

Engine mounts, Oil pan, Oil pan gaskets, Dipstick, Oil pump, Pickup, Oil pump shaft, and Headers. Along with a transmission to handle the tq from the big block. On top of that a brake upgrade, stiffer suspension to support the weight in the front, and a set of subframe connectors(weld in).

the bodys already been stiffened (ex drag car)

the 460s going in with a c6,

would the oroignal oil pump not be fine? the oil pan kits come with a pick up tube

have you done this swap yourself?

Not done it but researched the hell out of it untill I figured out I'd have to pay $2000 or more for a set of heads to my liking.

Ive done the swap several times. Unless you build the engine don't expect an instant 10 second drag car. The weight on the front of the car really hurts it.

Im not expecting it to be quick

although the 460 will be going in stock, crappy heads and all, I just need the car on the street

then Ill be saving for a while to build a stroker to drop in

Ive been reading another forum about the swap,

guys are running k member spacers to drop it down for more room? Is that just to clear a stock hood or? It seemed what some of them were going for.

Basicly, from what I have seen even with the spacers you need a cowl hood. And if you get into running carb spacers, taller air gap type intake manifolds and such you have to use around a 6 inch cowl hood. I may be wrong but one day I found the measurements on some forum(so take this info with a grain of salt) but I have a 2 inch raised cowl on my 88 and it would not clear with the stock 460. Hell man you can find a 351 block for cheap and get a 393 stroker kit and have a potent setup on regular pump gas and have it fit great. But you said you were looking to get something on the road and for cheap then this is not the path you would want to take IMO.
