Default 390FE In My 1995 Stang

Well I have a built 390 I was going to put it in my '72 Ford F-250 but I got to thinking what about putting it in my '95 mustang. Does anyone have any advice for this swap, and I also have a new rebuilt C6. Big dreams for this car some day.

The best peice of advice I can give you is don't do it. I can't begin to list the reasons this is a bad idea. If you do get it in there don't park the front of the car on soft asphault, lol

They are heavy an I'm thinking that will be a hell of a project getting an FE into an SN95 car.let us know if that works out for you with pics.

Not only were 390's heavy but 390 is small cubic inch is such a big block. Header fitment, oil pan issues water pump to radiator clearance. I;m a firm beleiver that any engine will go in any car but the payoff on this one isn't enough to justify the build. A nice fitting 347 or 351 based stroker will end up costing you less in the long run. It's just a flat bad idea. you would be better off buying a 500 dollar 460 and C6 and throw it in there. At least the cubes are there.

It was just a brain fart I had,the motor is done I have a ton of money in it. I had it bored .040 over had the heads all done with adj. rockers and huge stainless valves. Well I already have the C6 I had it done the same time I did the motor,we'll see what happens with the economy I am broke right now so I can't do crap. Thanks

Nothing wrong with thinking outside the box. Find an old F100 and throw it in and build you a nice hot rod truck

I would say if you had aluminum head and intake it might not be too bad on weight.I built a 390 for a 69' Galaxie 500 once and could not believe how heavy the factory intake was.
I'm guesing 10,000 pounds give or take a few hundred lol
