Default NEED HELP, Whats the problem here??

Okay well ive had this mustang for about a little over a month now, ever since i had it it had a stuttering problem, also when i got it, it would smoke some from unburnt fuel, so i had it retimed and the smoke went away and the stutter went to a minimum but was still there, after letting it sit for about 2 weeks, i start it, let it warm up, and its smoking again. Took off the distributor cap today and saw this, my dad said its fried, which was pretty obvious to me, and my friend said it looked like my ignition was ****ed because it wasnt firing at the right time? What can you tell by looking at the pictures? I didnt resize them so you can see them better. If you cant tell its slightly melted where the black marks are. I have a all mallory ignition along with a ton of other work done to the car. What do you think is the problem?

It's the price of a high performance ignition and hot coil. Swap the cap with another MSD cap and rotor. Throw a new set of plugs in it while you are at it. You want the major jump of spark at the plug and not inside the cap.You can just about bet the plug wire on that one terminal is trashed. Replace the wires and put some dielectric grease on the towers and at the plugs.

Put a temp gauge on your car before you have a problem and don't realize you are burning up your engine and put a grommet in the side of the dist where the pickup wires exit so it doesn't wear through the wires and leave you stranded

Welcome to the world of hot rodding, lol

Its all mallory stuff, and it has the hyfire ignition and the pro master coil, do i need to change those? I was already planning on buying a new cap, rotor and plugs, but ill add plug wires to the list too. But can you tell if my ignition is fvcked by that picture? My buddy said it looks like its firing at the wrong time because of all the back spots, is this true? Or are the black spots "normal"?

WELL I'm not a big carb guy... But I would think that would be the place to start, and check the timing of course.

Maybe someone with more carb experience could give some input, but the timing could be an issues, especially since you're not sure what it's at...

Do you know how the cam is degreed?
