Gas tank (or around there) slurping sound?
Ok, yes I know my car doesn't really slurp gasoline, but more like gulps gasoline.
Anyways, I'm driving today and started noticing upon acceleration (and switching to the next gear) that I hear this slurping sound from the gas tank. I've never heard this sound before. It actually does sound kind of like someone slurping the end of a soda glass or Slurpee. It does not happen over bumps, just acceleration, so I am tending to rule out chassis-related stuff.
I had about a quarter of a tank of gas. It's a hot day (80 degrees). It sounds like it is coming from the rear passenger side (where the fuel door is). My best guess is that it is the fuel pump, but take that with a grain of salt.
Any ideas?

Well I just took it out for another drive. I am still getting that tank noise I described, I can't tell if it is getting worse though.
I also hear a "whrrrring" (kind of a dull, faint whistle) noise with it. I can't tell where this one comes from, but it seems like it could be from the back also. I can't remember hearing that one before either.
But wouldn't that stop the gas from flowing? I seem to not have any problems with gas flow (yet?).

Hmm not quite sure what you mean by baffle problem, but I might be able to find some info on that.
However, I'm kind of afraid of putting more gas in if I'm going to be taking the tank off and switching the fuel pump :\

So what should a fuel pump sound like at idle?
I just listened to mine at idle and I can hear a whining noise. It's not a terrible whine like some people seem to have. I can upload a short clip of it here soon.
I have actually heard the whine for probably a year, the sound hasn't seem to have changed (gotten worse) at all.
