IMO I would not buy it for $4000, yes it looks good but the cowl hood and the out of place badges would make me wary. Why does it have a cowl hood? Maybe he swaped motors on it and it was raced. The 5.0 badges being out of place is a clue that it has had body work (again so is the hood). Keep looking for a few weeks I bet you find one that is just as nice for a better price, or get him down to $3000/$3500 tops.

Run a carfax on it. $4000 is high for a car with a primered hood. Nice looking car otherwise, except for the idiot that installed the 5.0 badges.
At most $3500 if carfax comes up clean. Rip out that damn chip the minute your name is on the title, too...they're junk.

Yeah, where I live foxes are pretty rare, especially GT's. My GT was about in the same condition as that one (except the hood/badges) and had a door that had to be replaced, and I still payed I think 4,700 or so. Mine had about 120,000 miles when I bought it though. If you know anyone that could check the car out that would be good. My bro is a mechanic and he checked out my car for me before I bought it. Just a thought.
