Default suddenly no oil pressure

today i was turning down the idle because it didnt surge before the guy i bought it from bumped it up, i dropped it down to a little below 1000 and when i checked my tach i noticed i had no oil pressure. i turned the car off, and turned the idle back up to where it was, and when i went to start it again it still had no pressure. what could this be?

The smart thing to do would be to ensure that the oil pressure sender wire didn't work its way off, and to not run the motor.

Could be an oil pump shaft bent, broke, etc. But start with knowing if the gauge is working.

your pump could be ****ting out or the bearings could be ****ting out. how long ago was the motor built?

also get a manual oil pressure gauge and test it that way to know for sure
