Low End Question
Hello,
I am new owner of a 5.0 so go easy......please
I have a 90 GT AOD convertible- stock except for underdrive pulleys. It has 112,000 miles. I just had the rear rebuilt with 4.10's. I still can't spin the tires from a dead stop mashing the throttle-barely a chirp out of one wheel. It just goes.
I figured replacing the 3.27 I would do it. It is much better with the 4.10's though.
Does this sound normal with an engine/trans of this mileage? Maybe it is time for some work but it really seems to run well through all the trans gears- it just wont break 'em loose so to speak.
Thanks

yup exactly , that 'vert is also heavy as he!! , my '90 lx 'vert was 3600 w/ no driver in it, so your close to 4k in your GT or more, thats what a pickup weighs
as stated , 3k stall and a shift kit. nitrous will wake it up too, my '90 all stock went 13.60's from 15.10 just w/ 100 shot dry on 3.73's
you'll need stickier tires though when it does break them loose
for comparo.... your car in 1st (9.84 total gear) is only slightly better than a t5 w/ 2.73's (9.1455 total gear)
