Default 5.0 Top end

I am looking to work my engine a little and I am looking for some advice. A root supercharger kit for the 5.0 is around $2800. Right not I have a new cam, roller rocker, gear to gear, and dual exhaust added to my car. I am sorry but I don't have the details on the cam because it was done at an engine shop. I am looking at either a SC for $2800 or I was looking at getting set if GT-40X Aluminum heads and a carb and intake package. Its a High rise intake and 2 carbs. I believe the carbs are 450cfm. The heads are like $500 each and the intake package is about $1000. What would be better to invest in.

Its not for drag racing or anything, I just like the power. But I am always skeptical when it comes to forced induction. I have seen many engines go because of it. But with a SC do you have to have it tuned? O and by the way its a 1984 mercury capri, and it has a 600cfm Edlebrock carb I believe it is a 4 barrel.
