Default Herky jerky

neck snapping sticky accelerator. My gas pedal seems notchy when going slow in 1st and 2nd gear, through like parking lots, traffic back ups etc.
The cable is not visible to the human eye ,as its buried between the dash and back of the motr.

Looking to lube it somewhere,, any secret spots that causes this problem?

grab the throttle body and roll the linkage slowly and see if it's smooth, if it is then the prob is most likely the cable, no way to lube it, it most likely is unravling inside, better replace it before your throttle gets hung up at WOT

The throttle blade maybe jamming in the bore.

Clean the inside with combustion chamber cleaner or throttle body spray.

If that doesn't help. Check the stop screw for the throttle blade. It may be worn down or peened over. Turn it in a bit.

You know I must say,,,, being a lifelong Chevy guy and this Mustang being my 1st Ford,,, I know very little about them.

I've been waiting for my Service Manual for about a month,, They say its coming. So until I get it I'm skeptical of taking stuff apart that I have no experience with.

Any place I can get some detailed directions on cleaning the Throttle Body?

The linkage itself seems stiff,, The cable seems smooth with tension off it,the return spring is definitely doing its job! The car sat for about 3 yrs. and I just tagged it about 2 months ago,,, so I'm still working out the bugs,,This is an annoying problem.

Get some throttle body cleaner and spray it inside the throttle body and work the throttle back and forth.

follow that big black tube from the air filter, until you get to the big metal thing on top of the engine... unscrew the clamp on the end and pull the tube off.

Guess what the metal thing you are looking at is....
