Ford doesnt make a adjustable clutch cable i dont have the stock plastic quadrant on anymore i upgraded to the billet quad and added the firewall adjuster too for added adjustability. The thing thats getting me is when i get a new cable the cable moves freely but when i start to have problems and then it messes up the cable doesnt move freely anymore you have to pull the cable just to get it to move please help i dont know what the problem is and im going today to mustangs unlimited to get another cable. I dont want to buy a cable every couple months
i get the cable right where i want it between the top and the height of the brake pedal when it engages that where it needs to be right. then the cable stretches and i cant get it into 1st and reverse to i tighten the cable and a few months later the cable is shot

Maybe over adjusting the clutch? Then everytime you mash the clutch pedal to the floor your putting a hurting on the cable... you need to make sure you still have a little slack in the pedal after you adjust the cable.

I bought a Steeda Adjustable cable to replace mine when it broke, I do not have the firewall adjuster but I do have the billet quadrant. Been on for 4 months now, no problems. It was alot thicker and better made overall then the adjustable one I took off. Funny thing was, I got it at the local speed shop cheaper then from Steeda direct lol. Well worth the money though, a real quality piece and no problems with clearing my LT headers.

yes i tighten both nuts and put 240 lock tight on it too
so do you think i have been tightening the cable to much bc on either end of the clutch cable there is plastic build-up from where the cable has been rubbing
