Question Is this too hot?

Recently I acquired a DD 95 Mustang GTS. The only problem is, it seems to run a bit warm. The temp gauge would always hover around the "M" in NORMAL, but it would never go any higher than that. So I bought an accurate water gauge and the actual temperature is right around 215 degrees with the air blasting at max. Even with the air off it still hovers at 215. The highest it has hit is 230 degrees in 102 degree Texas weather. The car is stock. I did throw in a 180 degree thermostat last week, but that did not do anything. So the question I have, is this too hot? My supercharged 95 does not seem to get this warm. It usually sits at the "O" in NORMAL.

Make sure the fan low speed is working....... it should turn on @208° in low speed and high speed @224°.

my car is also a GTS as well, it hovers around the same temp, by the "M", i've had the car for over a year, and it doesn't seem to be a prob, i've had everything checked out and no leaks or anything, it looks like it runs like that normally. pm me if you get it to run cooler.lol.

Underhood temp won't effect radiator efficiency. Once the air is in the engine compartment it's already passed through the cooling fins. You're fine all the way up to 230, after that is where you want to start to be concerned.
