got the wrong image from the guy. But to clarify, i spliced the ASI so that the connector just next to the asi plug could be connected, i took the other plug, cut the three wires and put ring connectors on the charge post as well as a heavy gauge wire that had a 140 amp fuse which goes along the radiator support and then attatches to the positive post on the battery.

I hope you upgraded your alternator to solenoid power wire along with the alternator...
I'm running my belt the same way you described. I also upgraded my dead 75amp to a 2g 100amp I picked up at summit. It only had a single post to work with, so I bundled up the stock connectors and just ran a piece of 12 gauge wire from the alt to the positive battery terminal. Sounds like I did that wrong. I should run it to the solenoid instead?

What do you mean you bundled up the stock connectors? All of the wiring that goes into the stock alternator needs reused when using an aftermarket alternator. On 3g models you have to modify one of the harnesses, but still end up running all wires to the alternator, but since you have the 2g I would think that the harnesses plug right in.

12 gage seems a bit small for handling alternator output. I'm running a 4 gage with a 200 amp in line fuse on my 130 amp alternator set-up. That is in addition to the two black wires that are stock. I have my cable coming off of the solenoid, then it runs along the radiator support next to the stock wiring harness, below the air box, then up to the back of the alternator where it connects to the post on the back of the alternator.

The alternator power wire should run directly to the starter solenoid. It attaches on the same post as the power wire from the battery. Since the battery and alternator wire both run directly to the same post on the solenoid, it essentially acts like a direct cable from battery to solenoid. I do NOT know running the alternator to battery will cause problems as I have not tried and don't care to.
