fuel filter?
Hook a voltmeter to the fuel pump leads and while its running, have someone apply the brakes. If you see a drop in voltage, the brake lights are causing the change in pump sound. I have a 95 amp alternator on mine, and every time my Mark VIII fan comes on, the pump changes tone.
Mine is a new Holley 140 gph black pump. I was going to put a small led to show when the fan kicked on, but no need to.

just because the pump whines doesn't mean its bad or going bad. a fuel pump is one of those things that either works or it dont.

lol look guy i never said i was an expert. im just going by what happened to me and what i was told about it. and just because you know more about it does'nt mean you can call what i put up polluting. you learned by trial and error. well so am i. and no one tried to prove you wrong. i never said that. just remember you didnt know it all at first either. so please next time don't degrade me because you "know" more about it. thank you.
Well GUY if you don't know as much as you say you do why post, why don't you just kick back and read, learn, experince, and nothing personal just most of these new guys around here has been acting like the know EVERYTHING and it just getting on my nerves alittle. And most even have the nerve to try to argue the fact. And please don't call me guy ever again.
lol i dont know if you read the one post i put on here before. mine is acting funny like jerking around at about 40 - 45 mph when the engine is cold. i get it up to speed and let of the gas and it jerks. kinda like it is quick shifting between 2nd and 3rd but it is not cuz the rpms stay the same. what do you think it could be?
