Question Will this effect my performance?

Today I decided I was going to clean out my MAF upon doing so I noticed two strange ordeals under my hood.

First off I noticed the hose to the smog pump was unconnected. You can see in the pic. Will this have negative effects on my vehicle? Note, the belt is still connected to the smog pump, I'd delete but my WA emissions are coming up soon.

Also, I noticed this small item just hanging out underneath the air intake hose not even bolted in. Just curious what it is.

Well you are not going to pass emissions with that hose disconnected prolly and the 2nd pic is your TFI module. I thought thit was supposed to be inside the fender though. OO well. No they wont effect your performance.

smog un hooked won't affect a thing, the other thing is the tfi module and should be mounted in a heat sink

I don't think you'll get failed from the sniffer without the smog pump. They don't do the sniffer in Mass anymore but last year when they did, my 91 camaro had smog pump deleted and headers(should have failed for both). Passed the sniffer and he never bothered to look under the hood. The testers are pretty lenient. As long as your not blowing dark smoke or your timing is advanced to far I wouldn't worry about it.

Even if you do fail you have 30 days to fix it and get it inspected again for free.
