Default Firewall to hood seal?

do they serve any purpose? when i look at mustangs in magazines alot of people do not have them on. could it be because of aftermarket hoods?

it serves the purppose of sealing the hood to the cowl so **** doesnt get in there

This is mostly because they are ugly as hell on these cars. And yes, they wouldn't do too much with an aftermarket hood. When I restored my car that ugly thing never went back on.

mine was bent to hell when i got my car.i just ripped it off and never put one back on.it wouldnt fit with the hood i have on it now anyways.

alright because after i put my cowl hood on it is bent and i hate how it looks. since i keep my car in a garage and dont drive in the rain ill take it off.
