fried piston ring at the track =(
fried a piston ring on the second run at the track, lost 80lbs of compression. so im looking to swap out my pistons for some higher compression since my current ones are low for a blower and im never gonna have the money for a blower. since its a 347 stroker, do my next pistons have to have a certain wrist pin height, or can i just throw in any .030 over pistons? currently it has je 9.5 347 pistons. im looking for around 10.5 compression

Seems to me that a head gasket failed. Good pistons don't just fail.
Anyway, if you are going to replace pistons, you need to use pistons intended for a 347. That means something made for the 3.400 stroke.
I would highly recommend that when you pull the engine apart you take the time to check all the parts very carefully as I think you may not need new pistons.

Do you know your piston part#? Like said you will need a piston with the correct pin height and size. Let me know if you are gone to swap them out I have a set for a 347 that I cant use. they are also JE's brand new in the box.

i took my head and gasket to my mechanic and he checked the valves and the gasket and said they are both fine. he reccommended filling up two equally placed cylinders with kerosene to see if one would leak more then the other, i filled #7(the bad one) and #8 both. #7 had leaked all of the kerosene down before #8 had even moved.

how can i find the part #? the engine came with these pistons in it and i dont have a box or anything for them.
