gas gauge not working
#12
Sorry it has taken so long to get back, but the problem has been solved. The sending unit was bad and needed replacing, but it did not fix the gas gauge. The anti-slosh module also needed replacing. I was told that the anti-slosh module will sometimes short out the sending unit in the tank when it goes bad. So, if your gas gauge is not working, I guess you can start with the anti-slosh module. But even if you replace it, your gauge still might not work because it shorted out the sending unit when it went bad.
Hope this helps.

It came from the Ford dealer. It is called an amplifier and has the part number MF E9SZ-10E849-A. It cost $94.04. The sender was $169.15. So, having a working gas gauge was not a cheap fix. Maybe someone else knows where the parts could be found cheaper.

Cool, I have the same problem. I heard there was a way to check the sending unit with a Volt/ohm meter without having to remove it from the vehicle. Not sure though.
I have this problem and this helps out alot!
I hope to work on it in the next couple of weeks!
Will keep U guys posted.
