hey guys. I changed my iac because i was getting terrible gas mileage and loss of power and came to the conclution that it was the culprit. The check engine light would go on and off etc. Now, i installed the new one, checked for vaccum leaks. unpluged the negative battery cable for 3 minutes to reset the computer. Now it is idleing at 2k. Somethings deff not right. any help? My tps was .98 when i got the codes run it was checked. It wouldent change from putting on the iac would it? Thanks guys.

to reset the computer you need to have the negative battery terminal undone for about 30 minutes not 3

Hmm i just don't see how not reseting the computer after installing a IAC would cause a car to idle that high,actually after thinking about it im kinda puzzled.[&:]

did you put a new gasket on the iac when you put it on

i know this sounds dumb, but is the gasket the little felty paper thing that i accidently ripped on one side but still used anyway?
