Default Car won't start

New member, and sorry to just jump right in with a help question.

But i just did a complete 331 stroker build and the car won't start/idle/stay running.

The timing is correct, its been checked a bunch of times, an its on 10 right now.

The car will not start without holding the gas all the way down, an even then if you let up on the gas it dies. The car won't idle under 1200, meaning if i get it to 1100 it dies.

Have went threw 2 sets of plugs. The plugs are black, an some smell like fuel.

Can anyone give any suggestions.

Here is what my car is, an what i did to it.

94 Mustang GT

331 stroker
GT-40 Aluminum Heads ported
Typhoon intake ported
Comp Cam duration 230/280 lift is 532
Blaster MSD Coil
Bosch 24lbs injectors
Cold air intake
granatelli MAF programed for 24lbs injectors
bbk equal length shorty headers and x pipe with flowmasters
trick flow 255 fuel pump
Professional Products 70mm throttle body

I deleted the Smog/EGR and A/c

Also i have a chip from JMS and have been told that could be the reason i am having these issues.

chip could be the problem. generally, out of the box mailorder chips are a terrible choice.

but, it all depends. did the car have the chip before the stroker build? did it run with it?

No chip before the build, it was just a stock GT. Then i bought a new 302 an did the stroker.

The stroker has never seen the road. Its all put together, but can't get it to run.

It has fuel/fuel pressure an spark.

has to be timing/firing order then. unless the pressure is way off. 39 psi with vacuum off.

Timing is correct, we have tried 10-20. and the firing order im 99.9% is correct because i never took the wires off the cap an marked each on as i took them off the stock motor. They went on the new one one by one.

sure its possible that the timing is off, but like i said we did it on the compression with number 1 cylinder, an we check the timing every time we **** with it.

My fuel pressure is at 40.

I could possibly have a bad vacuum leak, but i don't know how to check an make sure everything is in the right place.

a vacuum leak sizable enough to cause those symptoms would be clearly audible.

For some odd reason my firing order was different then stock. The Cam sheet had a new firing order, changed the order, the plugs, put gas in an when i turned it over gave it some gas started right up. Still idling like crap, its purging or whatever you want to call it, its going from 1500, down to 1000 to 500 to 1500, and can't take my foot off the gas or it dies. But atleast it starts every time now.
