well i bought the car i recently just changed the rear end oil and the gears looked almost brand new? not much wear at all. how can i tell what the gears are? i can run like 75 in 2nd gear and someone told me that wasnt normal... i dont knwo cause ive never owned another mustang sooo i dont know...

 

jack car up rotate tire once and see how many times the driveshaft turns.....I'd say you have 2.73's

 

ok so their still stock... damn they look good for stock lol... if i get a set of 3.73's what differance am i gonna get? what does it change? does it make you go faster? slower? accelerate faster?

 

Well one of the first things that I did to my car was gears.. I got the 4.10's and was happy with the fast acceleration, but lost a lot of top end, and you run higher RPM on the freeway at 70mph.. I liked them for racing and things, but I want my car to be a little more of a Daily driver/Strip car, so I am going to drop down the 3.55's .. If you dont do long distance, and like accelerating hard from a dig, go with 3.73's...

 

For my DD 331 im going with either 327 or 355

 

With 3.55's you should cruise at 2250 RPM at 70mph. I get 22 mpg with my 3.55's. However, with my setup, 3.73's would have been better for the track.
