88 5.0
Im looking into buying a 88 5.0. ive had a 93 4cyl and a 2000sixer so im moving on up to the eight. I drove it yesterday and i like, its got a CAI, headers, exhaust(no cats), 3.53 gears, and a 70mm throttle body. but its got a 180k on the body and 90k ish on the motor, i know a decent amount about these cars, dont they get all bent up without sway bars/ torque bars, there is a lot of miles and a lot on time to push the gas down. 70mm throttle body, dont most 5.0s go with 80mm. This was a 5speed and had no traction what so ever even with new 9inch 245's in the back, would an auto be better for track times bc of traction (ive tracked cars before and im a decent driver). In 89 they went to mass air flow, what did they have before and does it really make a difference. The car looks great, but has a couple small rust spots on the inside of the hatch i should of got pics the car is sweet, any insight would be appreciated, thanks, o yeah how much would you spend on it he wants 4k
I really dont understand anything your asking. The throttle body all depends on what you want and What does the car not have sway bars?and the auto would be better for consistancy but a street car is way better with a stick and 4,000 is a little high I think with that many miles
sry.... im just looking for opinions on this car, the car has 180k but the motor was swapped at 93k, so the motor has almost 90k on it.
-new clutch and tranny, cai, headers, exhaust, 3.53 gears, and 70mm throttle body, new paint and hood.
-is mass air flow a big deal since 88 is not equipt with it and 89+ is
-there was barely any traction what so ever, would auto be better for track, even though i know the stick is funner around town
-the car looks and sounds great there are a couple small rust spots on the inside of the hatch, but nothing major.
