Default Hood problems

So the other day i was changing my oil and when i finshed my hood wouldn't shut properly, no matter how hard i slammed the hood it would shut. It use to work properly and i would bearly just slam it to shut it correctly. Is there something that I could do to fix this problem with out going to body shop?

very open ended question.. why wont it shut? is the body alignment off? is the latch not catching? is the hood catch broken?

we're not mind readers.

Yah, If it's the front the hood latch may be stick closed if you still have it.

close it by hand and see if it stays closed. more than likely going to need a replacement.

Make sure the hood release cable is pushed in. Mine sticks and after pulling it I have to push it back in. You could have the same problem. But trying to slam it will only make things worse.

That was my first thought also!

2nd though is to make sure the 2 small bolts holding the latching mechanism aren't loose and the whole latch has slipped down and your unable lock the hood into place.
