Default How do I get my fuel door open!!!??

if got an 89 with that cute and fancy electronic fuel door that you open by pushing the button inside the glove compartment.

except currently i have no engine, battery, or electric in the car, so how do you get the fuel door open otherwise??

i mean i suppose i could take a cutting wheel to the rear quarter panel, then urinate on the remains (can you tell i'm a bit angry?)

someone has to have gone through this before!!! please help

You should have an emergency release cable that is physically attached to the plunger solenoid mechanism. It usually has a T handle. Find it and give it a yank. This thread should have gone in the General Discussion rather than the Tech forum by the way.

Should be in the trunk or hatch right near the trunk/hatch latch assembly. or it will be right near the fuel door inside the trunk/hatch area.

Have you tried pulling on the fuel door. I know a lot of the older mustang you can do this and it will open. I speak from experience .
