My neighbor's got the whole kit, wheel, dial indicator the works. Hes never used it though, he has all his motors built by somebody. Im not sure about any of the methods, is there a good link somewhere, or could you explain it to me.

first to be accurate, you'll need to verify TDC..........ANYWAY...well since the card gives you valve events at .006, my custom cams have come with .050 specs but I assume it'd be the same way, what I do is hot glue a washer to the top of a lifter and stick it in either the intake or exhaust bore in number 1 cyl THEN set up the dial indicator on the block in a solid place that'll allow you to put the dial indicator on the lifter top so that it rides on the washer you glued on, then, roll the motor over until dial indicator hits the .006 spec, if you verified tdc properly and wheel and pointer are mounted correctly, then when you hit spec on dial indicator the pointer on the degree wheel should be in line with what open spec says, if not retard or advance cam accordingly, but I verify both opening and closing on both intake and exhaust more than once to make sure it's on the money, verifying tdc is important or all will be off!!
