Oil Pump Shaft on the outside of the dist. eyebolt
Well guys I was trying to figure it out why my car did not start after I finish my upgrade, so LX man was telling me that I may have too tight the valves, so I went to adjust them again and I foun that there were no oil at all on the driver's side head, so I took my dist. out and found out that the oil pump shaft is on the outside, how this could happen ! When I put it on there is a push on lock nut where is this nut goes ? on the buttom near the pump or on the upper side near the dist. ? The other question is how the hell can I take it out of there without taking apart the engine again ? I try too reach it with an 11'' plyers but the pressure on the shaft is a lot since I can not get it out, you can see it how it is bend!
Please any ideas what to do ? please help out!
Thanks,
IBM

something isn't adding up here. there is no where near enough room for the distributor shaft to go to the side of the oil pump shaft and miss it completely. the hole for the pump shaft is roughly the size of a dime.

Yes you are going to have to drop the pan to fix your issue.
You have a couple of options.
-You can either pull the motor.
-Unbolt the mounts and jack up the motor and hope you have enough room to work (most likely not....soooo)
-Unbolt the motor, unbolt the struts from the spindles and unbolt the k-member and drop the whole front suspension out while suspending the motor in the air.
I would pull the motor myself but that is me.
