I am using unfortunately valve covers from dss. I am currently changing to a set from anderson ford motorsport. they both claim no interference. I looked at the valve cover when I pulled it off and didn't see any marks where it might have hit

Although I don't like to run too much lifter preload. You can go another 1/4 or 1/2 a turn to see if it's a lash problem.

I thought about that but when you rev to 2500 rpm's it sounds like a very small backfire through the exhaust like the valves arent closing

no marks on the valve covers, so I don't think it's hitting. and yes they are taller then stock. still waiting on the ups man to deliver my pushrod length checker. can you use the regular rocker arm or do you need a "special" mockup rocker? what if I do have the correct length pushrods. do I have like eight lifters bleeding down at the same time? how much noise is normal with roller rockers?

got my pushrod length checker in and was wondering how to use it. do you tighten the rocker down tight and then adjust the pushrod till tight and then take out and measure?

I have stud mount rockers. I just checked before I looked at the forum and heres what I did. removed the rocker and pushrod. installed the pushrod checker, reinstalled the rocker arm that I took off, and adjusted till i had the rocker in the middle of the valve tip. where do you adjust the rocker arm to when checking length. then measured the checker and came out to 6.45. I was wrong with pushrods that I though I had. I had 6.250's in it. so I guess I will buy some longer pushrods, install them adjust the rockers and check again for noise. any suggestions on brand? heads are afr 185, with harland sharp 1.6 rollers

you skipped three MAJOR step for checking pushrod length... you skipped over using a solid lifter, marking the end of the valve tip, rotationg the engine over.. etc

go back, read the treads above and re-do it the RIGHT way
