Angry car starts but dies immediately

having problems with an 89 mustang gt starts but dies f/p working has good fuel press,im at a loss no one seems to know whats wrong i was told to check the ign, switch on the column all is good has a full tank of gas.im at a loss i just want this thing to stay running mods: ford racing headers bbk cai msd coil,wires,probillet dist,adjustable fuel pressure regulator,walbro pump,u/d pullies i just spent 1,500 on a car that wont stay running any help would be much appreciated thanx

So as soon as you release the key from start to run it cuts off. is that correct?

A vacuum leak can also cause that problem.

If it's directly in the intake or intake manifold, yes. It would have to be a pretty big leak though as the system can correct itself to some degree to manage idling at least (although extremely rough).

The vacuum line from my charcoal cannister came disconnected once,and I also had my PCV valve come out of it rubber grommet in the rear of the lower intake once and all I got both times was....Start and die, Start and die, Start and die... I kept playing with the accelerator pedal to bring up the rpm and if finally ran for a few seconds before it died again. If you can keep it running long enough you can eventually find that leak if you have one.
