2 exhaust ?s
If I was to take my stock h pipe and just remove the cats and replace it with 2.25 inch exhaust tubing, it would be just like having an aftermarket off road h pipe wouldn't it? The other question, and I'm pretty sure this wouldn't work, but if I was to get a 2.5 inch h pipe and leave the 2.25 inch cat back it wouldn't bolt up right would it? Sorry for the stupid questions.

RE: 2 exhaust ?s
You could cut out the cats and put a chunk of pipe in place, but it would probably be better to just get an aftermarket one. And you'd want to keep the same diameter for both parts as you wouldn't gain anything by going to a larger H pipe with smaller tail pipes.

Ya I was just wondering because I don't see how a 2.25 inch pipe could fit with a 2.5 inch pipe [&:], and I can get the cats cut, removed and replaced for about 80 bucks, it's a cheaper route to go and just as effective, easier too.

Also if you go with the pipes you always have the option to just bolt the cats back in. Wish I had thought of that back in the day. Ended up moving to a state that had emissions controls and shelling out some $$ to get factory cats and pipes put back on.

for 2 yrs a buddy ran stock manifolds, paceshetter OR Hpipe and stock cat back with welded in flows.
see ford uses a ball/socket type joint so a size difference like 1/4 isnt that much for it
