i have a 87 coupe 5.0 5 speed and it was sputtering on acceleration through the gears and i checked the computer to find out it was for a 89-93 maf and it was for a automatic i did the maf conversion but it still sputters just not as bad i was woundering if it would make a diffrence if the computer was for a stick or auto and help would be very thank full

Do you mean that when you step on the gas it feels like it is hesitatingon going faster????
Cause that is the problem I am having. But if I am driving like a normal civilian (obeying the law) there are no problems. It drives fine.

no when i take off from a stop and shift gears it with jerk and hesitate on going then it will finally pick up and go

sounds like a tune prob. change the plugs, wires, cap and rotor and check your maf to make sure its clean. you could also run codes to see if it has any.

i did the plugs, wires,fuel filter,tps sensor, idel air sensor, fuel regulator non adjustable, timing chain and gears and cap about 4 months ago
