I am going to upgrade mine to the 5.0 front suspension, no offense, I just don't want to run spacers
No offense taken. Unfortunately ,I still have to use wheel spacers on my new 5.0. I just know that someday a tire is gonna come off.Lol

255's are WAYYY to wide for the front dude.. with a 17x8.5 rim int eh front.. i would go with a nice staggered set up like 235 in the front and 255 or so in the back.

going ot help you out on this one. 40 is the aspect ratio of width to height. its 40% of the width. so its 40%of 255 that gives your height that + rim size X2=tire height so the 40 isnt the width just the height

im not shure about the wheel spacing but it should be the same, i think 40's are a little wide for the front, maby a 55 at the max.

keep word you got replicas. your front rim is kinda wide for that use on the front. also what back spacing you running? also i think there is a difference in the banger spindles and the 5.0 ones. best bet its not the springs or struts going to matter in this one its the spindle you need to worry about. many ppl for drag run the banger springs up front so that leaves that part out for you. check to see if the spindle is different if it is great replace it if not then guess what.........get new rims for front, or get new less wider front tires or just get a spacer. not to many choices here my friend

I need to know if the wheel spacing on a 2.3 is differant then the 5.0, my car was a 2.3 and now its a nice v8, I have '93 cobra replica rims, with built in 5.0 backspacing, 17x8.5, that I put 255/40/17's on, I checked around and have seem many 5.0's with these tires on, but I got mine on last night and there is next to no clearance from the strut up front, the backs look perfect. so I need to know if its just becouse I still have the 4 banger front setup, can anyone please help me out

the rims and tires I have DO fit on a stock 5.0, front and back without rubbing. I have tried them myself on my freinds car. They don't fit on my car, since mine was a 4 cyl. So there is a front suspension differance in the two cars. I will check into the spindles. just look at them with the pics I took between the two, the spindles do look differant, as does the hat of the rotors, the 5.0 haveing a smaller hat and what looks like a thicker base on the rotor, the struts look the same though.

the hat of the rotor on a 5.0 is thicker, thats the diff. in offset. you could fix this with a smaller strut to spindle upper bolt, so that you could pivot the wheel out some, but then you would need c/c plates to get the camber back in specs.. this route would be alot cheaper and serve the same purpose... i personally run 17x9s front and back with 245/45s, with no rub at all, not even on the gt bodykit... and they sit under the fender.

87-93 used the same fenders right??? anywayz, i still say its the brake setup.. the shorter rotor hat is letting the wheel sit further in. the spindles are exactly the same.

i am not sure I agree that the spindles are the same, if you look close at these two pics, one from a stock 5.0 (with upgraded calipers) and the other with the 2.3 setup, you can see some differances
