i have a 93 LX converted to carb. some time when you go to start it. the car wont start. it sounds like the battery is dead. ive changed the battery and alternator and its still doing it. one of the wires going to the solinoid on the fire wall. it would heat up if you hold the key over for a few seconds. could it be that wire causing the problems?

 

The only way that wire would be the problem is if it was changed and is undersized. If there is too much amperage in that wire causing it to heat up then something else is the problem I would think.

 

does your starter grind or struggle to turn the engine over. that might be problem. the undersized wire sounds like one issue.

 

man i have the same ****ing issue if u fix it let me know i have replace the cable that goes from the starter to the relay the starter and the stater relay and it still dose it

 

i changed that wire and it started up nice. it didnt want to start for me once today. got some jumper cables on it and it started right up. i dont think i completely solved the problem but it deff helped alot
