1.) Actually, your wrong, the 8LD IS CALIFORNIA SPECIFIC.
-You can't use it on a wiring harness for an automatic, bc its for manual. However, you can use an automatic on a wiring harness for a manual
2.) IT''s not the same as the A9L

Also, those two differences are just a few, of MANY things that are different on a CA car.

Basically, if your car is not in CA, and was never from CA, stay away from CA ecu's.
1) Yup.... and so are the 8LF, 8LG and A9S ECM's.
- INCORRECT..... you can use a manual transmission ECM in an automatic... BTSTDT many times. The problem is not the harness-to-ECM match up, it's when an automatic transmission setup is used with a manual transmission HEGO harness that problems arise, SIGRTN circuit gets blasted with the 12-vdc cranking voltage if that harness section is not modified.

2) Exactly....... logic is different across the board but the hardware (input sensors and actuators) are mostly identical.

Yet it too doesn't require the TPS to be set to any specific mythological value.

This is why I'm not going to try this 8LD that I have. Theirs no point when its so different.

AdderMk2 - wow, thats an awesome comparison chart. thank you. Look at those differences..... haha definitely puts things into closer perspective I'd say...

vristang - I'm using this forum for its purpose. STFU and stop taking this forum stuff so seriously.

LOL, I thought this was the TECH section... guess not, maybe this is the 'say whatever the hell you want and not have to back it up' section.

My bad, I'll leave now...
