Default Gear Oil Friction Modifier required w/Royal Purple?

I've heard that Friction Modifier is not required when using certain gear oils like Royal Purples Max-Gear 75w90. Is this true?

Read the "Note" in the Product description with this link:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/royal-...-gear-oil.html

No additional additives are necessary.

Already have it and it doesn't say anything.

Thanks Tim. I bought this stuff a year ago knowing that it didn't require Friction Modifier. But now a year later, I wanted some reassurance.

Lucas gear oil includes friction modifier as well. It says so on the bottle.

But it can't hurt to add half a tube of friction modifier. That's what I did.
