it begins shaking hard after 4k, and it continues to get worse at higher speeds,,
when i let the clutch in , shaking ends and i can hear a "winding down" some sort of noise that lasts maybe 1 or 2 seconds ,,,
all the vibration can be felt in the shifter ,, and u can begin to hear it as it gets worse but u cant feel it anywhere else for the most part

if it was the driveshaft it would not stop shaking just from pushing the clutch in.

its probably the motor

that's the same assumption im under. look at your harmonic balancer while the car is idling and see if it wobbles and let us know. the higher the speed, the more violent the wobble can get, even to the point of ripping off the HB and throwing it through something important! sounds like fun, huh?

Don't rule out pinion bearing/seal.

Check for any points of contact between the engine or tranny and the rest to the car. Any place there is contact will cause a vibration in the car.

I had a horrible vibration at 3000rpm from the metal portion of the tranny mount barely touching the crossmember. Five minutes with the grinder solved it entirely.

i have the same exact symptoms I feel vibration at around 3k, i can feel it through my shifter and it gets very bad at high speeds. What i did is balanced my wheels, aligned my front wheel because they needed to be and replaced my engine mounts, harmonic balancer because it needed to be and my U joint. Problem solved! Be sure to check all the bushings before you start spending money on parts. If your balancer is good, it could possibly be your U joint needs to be replaced.
