Default proportioning valve question

I'm converting a 93 coupe 2.3 to 5 lugs using the SN 95 front and rear brakes. Why can't I just run the third (left front) brake line to the port on the rear of the proportioning valve that now has a plug. That is how my 93 cobra is run and if I'm gutting the proportioning valve and installing a adjustable proportioning valve the pressure at the ports should be the same on the original valve.

If you have an sn-95 valve you can indeed run the brake line to the rear of the prop valve. I'm quite confused by your quesion. Clarify plz?

On the original 93 proportioning valve at the rear there is a plug. Why can't I take the plug out and run the driverside brakeline to that port? That is where my 93 cobra's driverside brakeline connects.

The proportioning valve is not just a tee. That plug is probably the way they install the 'guts' into the valve. This is a guess since I have never seen it.

The guts come in from the other end towards the bottem. Like I said the proportioning valve on my 93 cobra has a fitting with the driverside brake line connecting where the plug is on the 93 coupe. Also from pictues I see looks like the SN95 proportioning valve is also where the driverside brake line connects
I guess I need to take the valve off the coupe and look at it. Sure would make it easy to remove the plug and connect the brake line to it.

Why can't you use the line that originally went to that front caliper?

Because I'm using a 2 port master (94-95 SN95) instead of the original 3 port master (foxbody).

Unless you have a sn-95 prop valve you shouldn't modify your valve. Here is a pic of how the PROPER 5 lug set up should be. And the other pic is what you HAVE to do(read it) to get the right function with an adjustable prop valve down stream.

Btw. The two top ports on the sn-95 valve are fed by the master cyliner. The rear(left) valve feeds the front driver's side caliper. The two bottom ports feed lines that run across the engine bay...one goes to the rear end and the other goes to the passenger side front brake caliper.

The sensor in the middle(that plug boot) is for the "emergency" brake light(same one when you pull the e-brake) and it trips the dashboard emergency brake light in case of HYDRAULIC brake system failure.

The valve on my 93 coupe also has the rear port. It has a treaded plug. It seems to me that pluged port would also feed the driverside brake. I guess I need to take it off and look at it. My cobra has this rear port with an adapter that connects to the driverside brake. Thanks for all the input.
