Default Code 33

I ran my KOEO and KOER tests last night, and everything was clean except i got a code 33 saying that the egr valve was not opening correctly? What can i do to fix this besides replacing the part? Can i clean it out somehow? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

first determine if the valve operates properly, pull the vaccum line to it and manually apply vaccum with car running, if it kills the motor or runs really rough = valve fine, then i'd look into the evr selonoid operation which directs vaccum to valve

Ok so run the car, pull the vacuum line, and if it runs and idles fine, that means that it is the valve correct? And if it dies, might be the solenoid or sensor plug?

no read my post........ pull line and using a vaccum pump apply vaccum manually to the valve, i use a vaccum pump cause it has a gauge and will indicate by leak down if valve diaphram is ruptured or not.
