Default fuel pump

hey everyone,
a new member here with a question on a fuel pump install on my 1989 5.0lx stang that stop working. i was wondering how hard is it to change and whats all the steps to go by when doing it. thanks for any info...

drain tank
drop tank
unclip fuel lines
remove fuel sending unit
replace pump

reverse order to re-install

yeah it is that easy. start with taking the bolts out were you fill with gas the n move to the tank.the fuel filler neck just pushes into the tank.i then put a piece of wood under the tank and snugged up my floor jack under it. un bolted the two bolts on the top of the straps and took off the fuel lines.just watch for a little breather line on top of the tank .the ford fuel fitting are goofy with a white plastic inserts that lock on but the new fuel pump and new filters come with them.after it is out use a brass or aluminum punch and tap out the lockring(no sparks) and slip it out. make sure you de pressurize the fuel line and the fuel pump connecter is passenger side on the tank. but it is that easy.the hardest part is dealing with the gas in the tank

I suggest you go to advance and pick up a chilton or hayes repair manual. It will give you instructions with pictures. It's always good to have one if you work on your own rides. It's almost a neccesity.
