Default Emission

Hey guys haven't been on here in a while and got a question for your. I didn't pass emissions cause my hydrocarbons were to high. They were 2.7 and they need to be at 2. I was told it's cause of leaking gas. I was told it could be the gas canaster? Any input would be great. Thanks.

no it's most likely not due to the carbon canister, all it does is store fuel vapors, HIGH h/c's if the cats are working, are often a result of poor cumbustion, due to faulty tune up parts and or a worn motor/poor ring seal, first thing I'd do is make sure it has a fresh oil change, and fresh plugs, cap, rotor and wires, but above all run a koer test first and see if any codes exist, if any codes relating to fuel management show up, go after the repair of those first
