voltage drop at high rpms
ive noticed when driving at night while having my headlights on that when i hit the throttle and the rpms get up to around 4700 and higher the lights dim and voltage drops. went and had the volts tested today while the car was running and it tested at 14.7 steady at idle and then when i hit the throttle it dropped to about 13.3 at high rpms. any ideas? belt is good and not loose. btw its a 94 mustang gt. Thanks

sounds like the brush springs are getting weak and you are getting some float. seen it a few times before.. cure put a alt. on it or you could just put a set of new brushes in it you can get them from NAPA still for like $14 most places say they cant get them just so they can sell you a alt.
