Default Why does my battery die when the car is in the garage for a day?

1994 Ford Mustang GT convertible V8 kills a battery really quick? I parked the car last fall and it was running fine. I took out the battery and it wouldn't take a charge. My charger just faulted out. The battery read 3v. I got a new battery a few days ago and installed it. Car started fine and I ran it for about 5 minutes and parked it. 3 days later the batter is completely dead. I disconnected it and it reads about 0.3v. I ohmed out the positive wire to ground and its 0ohms. Is it supposed to be a direct short like that?

I didn't leave on any lights etc.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks, and I hope i posted this in the right spot, new to the forums.

because you have a parasitic draw...you need to hook a dvom set to amps in series with the neg battery terminal to post of battery and measure draw, safe at rest draw = 25-50 milliamps

Once you set up the meter and not other draws on the battery (Lights, door chime, etc.) pull the fuses one at a time to help give you and idea where the draw might originate

if it ain't a light on somewhere like the glovebox, then it is usually a bad voltage regulator that sticks and drains the battery while the car is not running, even though it charges fine while it is running.
