sup guys i just got a v8 put in my what use to be a v6, only one problem the guy didnt tell me what year the engine is, therefore i cant buy anything for it. Does any one know how to find out what year it is.

 

Look at the back of the engine block where the intake would be and see if you see numbers.If so then that is the last 8 of the Vin that it came from and you can tell from the numbers what the year is.

 

Is it a 5.0 HO engine or what, carbed or FI? If it's a 5.0 HO and it's FI does it have a MAF?

 

85 and previous years will be carbed,86-88 with be fi but will not have mass air unless it is a calafornia motor than it will,89-93 will be fi and have mass air but the 93 motor does not have forged pistions.

 

if its an 87-95 is all 5.0's and the 94-95 are only different cause of the inlet adapter on the intake

 

depends on how the guy built it for him fellas...i have an 89 that is carbed

 

Its really hard to go buy when someone dosen't give you much info,since i was just going buy how they come out and plus the 93-95 did'nt have forged pistions netiher.

 

all motors from 87 to 92 are the same. 93 t0 95 are the same 95 to 97 are the same and 97 1/4 to 01 are the same.

all 5.0s here^^^^^^^^^^ and with any of the motors doesnt matter which one it can be modded with any 5.0 goody

 

its a carb. engine

 

carb just means someone was cheap and didnt put EFI back on it
