Default Belt problems...Squeeling, Ect...

Well, I had a shredded belt on the road the other day. So I replaced it...Well The belt tensioner is hitting the belt where it come off the alt...There is no smog pump on the car, So it's a shortend belt. What do I do to fix this problem, Sorry im a noob at this...

looks like the belt is too long, get a shorter belt

I had a shorter belt...I wouldn't go on for nothing. Then stepped it up a 1/2 inch.

Sometimes you have to force them on. Go back to the shorter belt Bro. You'll keep snapping belts if you don't.

you do know how to release the tension on the belt tensioner correct?

Yeah Bro I've owned 6 5.slows 8 mustangs total, and worked for Ford for 3 years.

Oh ya, I used a breaker bar. I was trying to force it onto the Alt pulley.
