Default 95 gt help please

so i'm not that great with cars and i bought my 95 gt about 4 months ago and haven't had any problems until i got sent to california for a month and now that i'm back i discovered my car wouldn't start.

i've jumped it twice but both times it died again, and a few minutes ago i tried to start it just to see if today is my lucky day but nothing happened. seriously the only thing that happened was the key turning i didn't even have lights come on on the dash.

i was just curious if anyone had any experience in this and would know if it was either the battery or the alternator? i thought it was the battery but it isn't staying charged so i'm thinking it could be the alternator or maybe i didn't leave it running long enough.

thanks for your time/help

btw this ----> is awesome

it could still be the battery, if it's old it may just not be holding a charge. you can take them (batt. and alternator) to a parts store and get them tested.

do you know how much it costs to do that? i don't have the cash to spend alot until i get paid. i'm probably going to buy some new jumper cables tonight and let it run for awhile and then see how it does. if that doesn't do anything then i should get them checked

It's free for them to check 'em out, if you can drive to the store, they can even do it in the vehicle.
