smogpump delete kill ur catalatic converters?
title says it all sO does not having the smog pump connected kills the cats in ur catted h or x pipe? it feels like one of my cats is clogged an its been like a week since i pulld my smog pump off and ive read a post about it not being a pretty sight when u remove the smog pump an still have a catted midpipe..BUT my neighbor's got this 5.0 an he doesnt have his smog pump or egr valve hooked up an the cats on his stock hpipe still are fine an he's had the smog pump off for as long as i've known him ! (year or 2) so wtf? do i need to get "high flo" cats? or was it just my cats time to go/die? bcause it was old or? i mean i bought this offroad xpipe but then i lost all my "seat of the pants" torque due to loss of back compression so i threw my stock hpipe on but its all cloged up still so souds like crap (ticking / cloggd sound) but still its quieter an even faster than the offroad pipe LoL..........
SOOO back to my question if i were to get a cattd x or h pipe an put in on still not using the smog pump would i just end up breaking /burning up / clogging / killing the new catalatic converters?? i apreciate the insight an thanks 4 your time

nope. The air pump system was designed to help get the converters to operating temperature faster, as per EPA regulations, for better emissions. After they are hot, the air pump is essentially useless. The pump not being connected has no semblance to the issue you have with your cats. Just ****ty timing(coincidence).
